October 9, 2008.... Oxnard, California
Don't know whether you remember that old axiom, watch what you wish for, it might come true. Couldn't be more of a truism at Kadytv.com om.
Looking back at the first entry in the new Kadytv.com blog made me realize how "dreams" can come true. My daughter was the first to give me some great advice, go out and get content that people want to watch, and the advertisers will follow.
With a grandson ending his freshman year in High School, it became obvious to me that I would love to see his games on television..... wow, we had a branded tv station domain name already in our possession. Why not go for it...... that was the start.
Then one of the great friends in my life reappeared, and he just happened to be the great former NFL all pro running back, Chuck Muncie. I think you can see the end in site. In April, Chuck heard about what I had in mind and he combined that with what he was doing and so was born our High School Sports Network in Ventura County.
The second bit of sage advice came from a very well respected friend Dean Maulhardt. We had been discussing possibility of doing fall football games for some of the Oxnard schools. His advice to me was to get it started in a private school, where decisions like this could be made much easier. The next step was pure, unadulterated chance occurrence. Chuck was in town in June and my grandson Evan was playing in a baseball game at Thousand Oaks High School. We decided to make the trek from Oxnard and being early, Chuck suggested we shoot over to Oaks Christian as they must be having football practice, and he would love to see Coach Bill Ridell. The rest is history.
Last week we broadcast the second of 5 home games, and when you watch and listen to the second half of the Venice game, you will get a glance at the future of Internet Television. And Kadytv.com is going to be there for the local folks from the LA county border to San Luis Obispo. .....more to come.
